Simply fantastic product and fantastic people. I had been suffering from white exhaust smoke and burning oil. I came across lots of symptoms on forums and came across the dreaded swirl flap issue. Needless to say I was very concerned and got in touch with PMW. There help, advice and expertise was invaluble.
Competant; but no mechanic I went about the task of replacing these flaps myself.
PMW were fantastic, on the other end of the phone at times to steer me right. My Swirl flaps were coated in soggy oil/carbon deposits and the tiny screws holding on the blades were so dodgy!!
Kathy’s excellent advice to replace the oil breather whilst I had the engine in pieces was a gem and I truely believe safed me from blowing my Turbo.
Cleaned everything I came across, EGR, Inlet Manifold etc. Car is running like a dream now, fuel economy is back up.
Cant recommend PMW enough, £70 all in safed me total fortune!!

Thanks to Daniel at PMW for fitting me in with next to no notice. Was a relief to have the swirl flap issue sorted before i felt like pulling my own teeth out;  and wouldn’t you know, while I was there a call came through from someone unfortunate enough to be suffering from swirl flap failure, so its not just some forum scaremongering!

Also spotted that crankcase breather (preventative maintenance) needed taking care of, for peanuts in the big scheme of things.  Just had an Inspection 2 elsewhere and though happy with the service this £19 item was not replaced;  says to me that PMW really do want to prolong the life of your car with you only having to steal from the tooth fairy !

PMW are priced about the same as other swirl flap stockist / experts but clearly enjoy offering a good service.
Will be the first I call for next maintenance works and advice !

With the new oil in the gearbox, it does seem to slip much less than before - I’m sure its quite subtle but there was noticeably better pickup in the lower gears as the box hooks up more efficiently.  

As for the flaps - I can only say that a major disaster clearly avoided!!

They arrived the following day as promised. All good stuff up to now. My Indie performed the surgery this morning and found one flap had  sheared off completely. Fortunately the flap had lodged in the port so no engine damage, you can imagine my delight. My car is an E39 525d se 2002 with 102200 miles and I intend to double the mileage. Hi,
Last week i received the 6 swirl flap blanking plates for my 530D Touring 2003. I had to wait a little longer because i live in the Netherlands.
I prepared this modification carefully, so after removing the risky old stuff, and installing your high quality blanking plates ( fits perfect ! ) i put everything together and made a testdrive. ( Also cleaned and disconnected the EGR )
My 530D feels happy now and runs beautyfull !
So many thanks from me and my 530 for this rescue operation , it won’t die now from a sudden death…..
