We carry out MOT tests as one of our many in-house services.

mot testing front door As part of our ongoing investment and development PMW has taken on new premises to house an ATL (Automated Test Lane) MOT bay. This allows us to provide a premium service to our ever growing customer database.

MOT while you wait

MOT appointments area available upon request and may be specified as ‘while you wait’*.
Our MOT testers are fully qualified and work within VOSA guidelines.
We are currently open for business one Saturday per month, this will be changed to Two in due course.
MOT re-tests are currently carried out free of charge up to 10 days** after failure.


The MOT test relates only to the condition of the testable items at the time of the test. It should not be regarded as evidence of the condition of the items tested at any other time nor should it be taken as evidence of the general mechanical condition of the vehicle. Please read the VOSA information on the back of your MOT certificate.


An MOT Testing station should have:

  • A test bay and an observation area housed in a weatherproof building. The building, although weatherproof, need not be draught free. It must be capable of being totally enclosed and provide a satisfactory working area.
  • The test facilities must be reasonably free from oil contamination, exhaust fumes, noise or other pollution from adjacent work areas.
  • equipment laid out so that testing can be performed effectively. The equipment should be laid out and located so that the other activities of the garage will not affect the proper conduct of the test.
  • an unobstructed, safe and easy access via metalled road from the site entrance to the building entrance, such that vehicles can enter and leave the site in a forward direction.

  • adequate off-road parking
  • sufficient inspection facilities, including underside access, for any vehicle repair or servicing worka clearly identified, warm and weatherproof public waiting area from which the whole test can be directly observed without interruption (except road testing) (room for two people seated is sufficient)

**Mileage restrictions apply @ MOT testing station discretion. Type of failure may require partial or full re-test, this may be charged at PMW’s discretion.
