Peter Mould Workshop (PMW) LTD was first established as a BMW and Mercedes-Benz specialist in year 2000 by Managing Director Peter Mould.

Peter initially attended a full-time college course at Colchester Institute to gain a City & Guilds 390 ‘Technicians Diploma’. Immediately after qualifying Peter landed a job at the local BMW main dealer as an apprentice technician. The apprenticeship lasted three long years, upon completion Peter passed his BMW Technical assessment and qualified as a BMW Technician.

Peter continued to work for the BMW main dealer for four years until he saw an opportunity to broaden his knowlege at the local Mercedes-Benz franchise with whom he had already established a good relationship. The job at Mercedes-Benz went very well, however Peter realised that his main passion lay with the BMW product. He returned to the BMW main dealer network as a Technician for two years before finally conceding that he must become his own boss in order to gain full job and customer satisfaction. In the early days it was a ‘one man band’, the business however has continued to grow considerably since then.

Initially the workshop space was a mere 850sq/ft, now the business occupies two industrial units totalling 4000sq/ft of floor space. PMW now has four service lifts, one MOT and computer 4 wheel alignment lifting platform, tyre fitting bay and employs nine members of staff. We have full dealer specification diagnostic equipment supplied by Autologic for BMW and Mercedes-Benz vehicles, Bosch KTS651 diagnosis machine for all other leading makes of vehicle and a Hunter DSP600 ’state of the art’ computer 4 wheel alignment computer to enable us to do a professional, competent job for very reasonable money.

Our staff are fully qualified and attend regular training courses to enable us to keep up to date with the ever moving technology employed in todays vehicles.  Currently three of our four vehicle technicians have attained the ATA accreditation standard, this is an industry recognition as to the competance of an individual.  ATA registered Technicians sign and are bound by a special code of conduct.  More information can be found at www.automotivetechnician.org.uk/

We specialise in servicing, repair, diagnostics, 4-wheel computerised alignment, tyre supply/fitting, air-conditioning and MOT testing. With technical backup we will ensure that your car is serviced to surpass manufacturer’s specifications, using only manufacturer-recommended parts and lubricants (with prior consent we may use OE specification parts where necessary). We are based at the Rivermead Industrial Estate, Chelmsford, Essex.
